We traveled somewhere between 300-350 miles today. Most of them on B-roads, some of which were downright glorious.
Both trucks ran great. The only fluid I needed to ad to the Thingamajig was power steering fluid (twice). It’ll need a little oil tomorrow, but really not much at all. Coolant level hasn’t dropped at all.
We had ice cream for lunch.
We had cheese curds and deed fried perch for dinner.
We did not buy the scooter. It was a bit too much of a project for what was wanted.
We’re settled in our hotel room, ready for the IndyCar race to start, with full bellies and cold carbonated beverages.
Damn fine day.
Also, pretty girl.

Got over 500 miles in myself. Another 8 hours and 500(ish) to go tomorrow. All of mine will be interstate though. I still would rather do this almost anytime over air travel. Maybe not the winter.

Some people will go to extreme lengths to spoil take their dogs for a ride in the car.
Also, I’ve been busy out in the shop and I need to file a report.

As the old guy in the ball cap in the photo, I concur. We also saw a jigglty million dairy cows. Did you know the daily milk production for the 1,260,000 cows in Wisconsin is 7.8 galllons of milk per cow.

I’ve had it in mind to do this with this belt sander for about ten years. I have many more skilz now...

Also, this:
There’s more to come on this one. The four captured nuts are for mounting the big AC converter when I’m on trips. Also, when I get the Ram Mounts bit figured out, to mount my 9-inch tablet for OBDII telemetry.

It’s my Project Binky. If I could afford it, I’d work with metal and be a proper fabricator. As it is, I think of myself less the carpenter and more the wood fabricator, constantly engineering functional things. This console thing, I’ve been staring at while on trips, for like ten years. Now, given the COVID Crisis, I took the plunge. Also, I’ve watched all the episodes of Project Binky, though I confess I fell asleep during some of them...
The belt sanding table is low tech, higher concept. Did you notice that the sander is held in place with zip ties? All scrap wood. The table surface is a 40-year-old kitchen cabinet door. See how fine the grain is? I have lots of plywood doors that came off cabinets and out of cabinets at school sites where I’ve worked. Built in the 70s using plywood you couldn’t even dream of buying today.

I did notice that the sander is held in with zip ties actually. I had a stash of those old plywood doors too , but I think I left them at the last school I worked in. They’re probably right where I left them in the store room.

I do spoil Sadie. Being single she sits at home 10-14 hours a day while I’m at work. To make up for that I try doing as much with her at my side as possible when I’m not at work.

I’m sure she enjoys it and appreciates you.

She loves every minute of our travels. But she loves getting home most. She's a daddy's girl for sure too. Shop-Teacher can verify.
